Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Robert Müller-Hartmann

Letter No.: VWL2893

[1942-1944?]

Dear Mr Müller-Hartmann

I have been asked by the publishers to get the enclosed1 orchestrated for string orchestra “under my supervision” (!!) – would you care to undertake it?
Th fee wd the publishers are prepared to pay is £15-0-0.
– By the way the strings should not [be] subdivided too much as the first orchestra which will play it will probably be the Jacques Orchestra which I think is now 4.3.2.2.1
Yrs sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
