THE LETTERS OF RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS

Letter from Ursula Vaughan Williams to Mrs Ross Lee Finney

Letter No. VWL3191

Letter from Ursula Vaughan Williams to Mrs Ross Lee Finney

Letter No.: VWL3191

22nd November 1958

Dear Mrs Finney

Please forgive the long delay in thanking you for your letter – because it was such a pleasure to us both to know you – & because Ralph was always hoping to hear more of your husband’s music – he much admired what he had heard.
Ralph wasn’t ill at all, but died as simply as he lived, without pain, or feeling of parting, and after a particularly [good] summer – full of new works and plans – a good and fortunate way for someone who was as alive as he was, all one could wish for someone loved.
I do hope you will be in England again before too long & that we may meet.
Yours very sincerely

Ursula Vaughan Williams
