Thank you for your kind letter and brochure about Sibelius, which I shall have much pleasure in reading.
We had the pleasure of meeting your friend at the first performance of my symphony. I wish we could meet you, but unfortunately my wife and I will be out of London just at the time you are there. We must hope for better luck another time.

1. Marc Vignal lived in Paris and was a member of a music club which wrote more than once to VW to express admiration for his work. See also VWL4300 and VWL1503. Vignal also wrote the first biography in French of VW (Ralph Vaughan Williams, Bleu Nuits Éditeur, Paris 2015).
