1. “Corinna’s Maying” by R. O. Morris. It was performed at the same concert as Bach’s Mass in B minor (Gloria, Sanctus and Agnus Dei) in VW’s new translation at the Leith Hill Musical Festival on 18 April 1947.
2. Howells was presumably to be one of the judges at the Leith Hill Musical Festival in 1947.
3. Bet Meeszenestje by Julius Röntgen, of which VW had made an English adaptation as ‘Tom Tit’s Nest’ – see VWL989. Röntgen, a relation of Bessy Trevelyan, had visited her at Dorking in 1930.
4. See VWL2137; VW had arranged Bach Mass in B minor in an English translation.
