Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Grace Williams

Letter No.: VWL3861

The White Gates,
Dorking.

8th July, 1948.

Dear Grace,
I was so much interested in your letter and I think I agree with you about most of it.
He took the slow movement rather on the slow side, which perhaps made the middle part sound rather tedious. But it was a fine performance and so clear
I should like to know what you think about Betty’s Symphony.1 She wants me to look at it again when you have done with it.
I am glad to hear the film is progressing but as I said before, when the final result comes out you must be prepared for most of the music being cut and the rest inaudible.
Love from Uncle Ralph

(R. Vaughan Williams)

Miss Grace Williams,
9, Old Village Road,
Barry, Glam.

Sorry this never got posted.
