Feb 16th 1958
My dear Ralph,
Thanks indeed. The honour would be very acceptible & I am very grateful to you for the part you have taken – no small one, I suspect – in bringing it about.
I look back with some affection on old College days, though I was a rather wild pupil. Anyhow I looked up to Stanford as a teacher & a personality.1
Our love to you both
Martin
When shall we four meet again?
1. Martin Shaw had been elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Music.
