I ought to have written long ago to thank you and your singers for your splendid performance of my Mass¹ at the Proms. As you know, I have not always seen eye to eye with the BBC Singers – but this was fine.

1. Mass in G minor, performed on Tuesday 9 January at the Winter Proms by the BBC Singers and the BBC Chorus, conducted by Woodgate. The Mass was the second part of the Promenade concert and the only part to be broadcast.
