Thankyou so much for your letter – I am so sorry you have been ill – It w^d be lovely to see you at the concert – but you will be too tired.
I do hope you will not think it unworthy to have Arnold’s name on it.¹
Mrs Hubback told me of your kind offer to play for the Gustav Fund – it is good of you – I do hope we shall be able to arrange something.²

1. VW is referring to the first performance of his Fourth Symphony to take place the following day. It was dedicated to Arnold Bax, with whom Cohen had a close friendship.
2. Fund in memory of Gustav Holst, who had died the previous year. Eva Hubback was Principal of Morley College and a member of the Gustav Holst Memorial Fund committee.
