Dearest Harriet

Thankyou so much for your letter – I am so sorry you have been ill – It wd be lovely to see you at the concert – but you will be too tired.
I do hope you will not think it unworthy to have Arnold’s name on it.1
Mrs Hubback told me of your kind offer to play for the Gustav Fund – it is good of you – I do hope we shall be able to arrange something.2
Love from

1. VW is referring to the first performance of his Fourth Symphony to take place the following day. It was dedicated to Arnold Bax, with whom Cohen had a close friendship.
2. Fund in memory of Gustav Holst, who had died the previous year. Eva Hubback was Principal of Morley College and a member of the Gustav Holst Memorial Fund committee.
