Dear Miss Charrington

Many thanks for yr letter & cheque.  I hope you feel rewarded for all your labours – you are a splendid secretary.
– I think I told you that Mr Carter & Miss Watson agreed that this was the best concert we had given – I think we are now equal if not better than the “palmy” days of the orchestra – our average is so good – There is now only one player I want to get rid of whom I won’t specify more particularly than by saying that it is neither a violin nor a cello!
I am so glad you are coming to Dorking
