My Dear Miss Lasker
Your letter about the Bach choir has only just been found – It was addressed all right but got hidden. How hard you must have thought me not to thank you for it.
Which I do now most heartily – I value encouragement very much – I confess I was rather pleased myself.1
Yrs very sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
1. VW became conductor of the Bach Choir in 1921 and his first concert – a programme of Bach cantatas – had taken place on 14 December. See R.V.W.: a biography, p.140.
