Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Louis Fleury
Letter No.: VWL485
13 Cheyne Walk
SW3
[1920? ]
Dear Monsieur Fleury1
I do not think I am on the committee of the Chelsea Concerts any longer – at all events I have had no notice of any meeting.
I think some flute music wd be a v. good idea – and I hope the Ctee will arrange it.
I hope we shall have the pleasure of meeting soon.
Yours sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
1. French flautist; VW probably met him while studying with Ravel in Paris. He was director of the Société Moderne des Instruments à Vent and introduced many English works to Paris.
