Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Evelyn Sharp
Letter No.: VWL531
From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
[Probably early 1935]
Dear Evelyn Sharp
I don’t know what we can do about the P.K.1 – my opinion is that if people want our stuff they must take some trouble to get it – if they don’t want it I don’t want to shove it down their throats. If all these people who bleat would only put their heads together & themselves arrange a season (guaranteed funds etc) something might be done – It’s really not the business of the authors to act as commercial travellers.
