Eversleigh Court
105/109 Cromwell Road
South Kensington
Nov 16 [1925?]
Dear Mr Boosey
Many thanks for your kind & appreciative letter. I believe the OUP are going to issue my lyric1 Suite.
Many thanks for your offer.
Yours sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
1.The reading of ‘Lyric’ is uncertain, but this seems to be the only word that fits the writing – it is tempting to match this reference with Flos Campi, first performed on 10th October 1925, reading the uncertain word as Viola, but this reading is unlikely even if that is the work that is meant.

General Notes:
The address is a hotel used regularly by the VWs until the late 1930s. The year is a guess, since it must be around the time OUP was becoming established but before VW used them exclusively.
Sold at Sotheby sale 17 May 1991.
