Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Penelope Spencer
Letter No.: VWL668
13 Cheyne Walk

[About 31st March 1929]
Dear Miss Spencer1
I was much distressed that you were not there on the last night of my opera2 to take your call with the rest of those who have so kindly & generously helped in the production of my opera – I think the skill with which you adapted your dances to my probably rather awkward music was wonderful.
Thank you very much.
Yrs sincerely
R. Vaughan Williams
