Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Hubert Foss (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL956

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

July 19th [1936]

Dear Foss

Many thanks for your letter about the P.K.  It seems impossible to make a financial success out of an opera.  It is very kind of Sir Humphrey Milford1 not to take up my friend’s guarantee.2
I am so sorry to hear of your illness. I do hope a good rest will put you right – we shall miss you badly.
Yrs
