Many thanks for your letter about the P.K.  It seems impossible to make a financial success out of an opera.  It is very kind of Sir Humphrey Milford¹ not to take up my friend’s guarantee.²
I am so sorry to hear of your illness. I do hope a good rest will put you right – we shall miss you badly.
