The White Gates,
Dorking.

[3 January 1934]

Dear Foss
I’ve just been on the telephone with Jack Gordon – He wants to keep Interlude in its place after Act II scene 1 – so the vocal score stays as it is – But he will probably not do the prologue – but I hope you will print that all the same as other people may want to do it.  He has the vocal score when you want it.1

1.  Jack Gordon, House producer at Sadlers Wells (see VWL850).  It was hoped that Sadlers Wells would mount a production of Sir John in Love in the 1934-35 season (Foss had written to VW about this on 14 December 1933), but it did not eventually materialise.
