(2) (As I said before) I do not pledge myself to approve of every note of every piece played under your auspices²

1. Thomas Edward Clark was an active figure in contemporary music at the BBC from 1926. 
2. It is not clear what honorary committee this was, but if at the BBC, Clark’s period there was 1926-1936, and VW moved to White Gates in 1929.
