Dear Gerald

I had looked at your Hardy Songs1 but had not heard them till last night.
How I enjoyed and admired – & I must have the pleasure of saying this –
I thought they were admirably sung. However it is your exquisite cunning that makes the words shine out so clearly – I only failed over ‘So mean I’ not knowing the poem well enough. And it is a pity Hardy had to twist his words thus.
When will you both be passing our way again
Love from us to you all
AMVW
