1. Tuesday 13 March was a particularly good night for madrigal societies. The Reading Madrigal Society presented the St. Mark Passion by VW’s old harmony teacher, Charles Wood. Meanwhile the Oriana Madrigal Society, directed by VW’s good friend Charles Kennedy Scott, gave a recital of Madrigals, Motets and Part Songs at Wigmore Hall. It is not clear to which event this invitation relates.
