Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Ursula Wood
Letter No.: VWL1441
Oct 11 [1940]
My Dear
I had already written to Rosemary1 the day before your letter came – so I will keep your envelope for another time – I made a little mild love in my letter “great friends” etc to be more persuasive – But I find that personal contact is the only way – I find I am tongue-tied till the arm is round the waist.
It will be exciting if Michael gets the job you mention – that will be in London I suppose. I don’t know Bude2 at all – only S. Cornwall which I love. I wrote a lot of Hugh the Drover in a farm house near Looe.
Write again soon.
Love from
RVW
