Dear Gerald
Forgive wartime paper.
I have looked everywhere & have not got the Double Concerto1 parts – but surely Goodwin & Tabb have got it (or are they Bombed?) (have you heard that good new word “Bombée”)?
Failing that try
(1)R.C.M.2
(2)Jaques3
(3)Boyd Neel
As regards a new conductor what about G Shaw?4 But lets hope you won’t have to leave
Yrs
RVW
1. The Concerto for two violins and strings BWV 1043, by J.S.Bach.
2. Royal College of Music.
3. Reginald Jaques
4. Geoffrey Shaw. Presumably a new conductor was being considered for the Newbury String Players, which Finzi had formed the previous year.
