Dear Adrian

I dare say you have heard Gustav’s  masque “The Vision of Dame Christian” which he wrote for St Pauls Girls School.1 For years the authorities sat on it and refused to let it be done publicly – Now they have relented and there is a great desire that it shd be broadcast – I know that 100s of Paulinas2 wd welcome this – I do hope you will see your way to do it.  I am asking Vally Lasker to send you the score

1. On Gustav Holst’s masque, The vision of Dame Christian, op.27a, H101, see 391106a. The masque had been up to then restricted to being performed by St Paul’s Girls’ School. It has remained unpublished.
