Dear Mrs Lock

Thank you very much for your letter – Ursula has been quite wonderful¹ – she has determined to make a new life for herself and not let the past take possession of her – and I believe that she will succeed. She has been down here twice now – the second time to help rest her bad toe – poor child – (I think it is mending well now) – she fitted in so wonderfully to our rather hugger-mugger household – & did not mind having to sleep on a sofa in our rather crowded house. I am so glad that Rosemary² is here so that they can see each other.
You know that we shall love doing all we can to help her – & she has many other good friends – she has such a genius for making friends.
