Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Henry Wood

Letter No.: VWL1755

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

March 15 [1943]

Dear Wood

Would it be possible to place my symphony toward the end of the season – I have taken longer over “washing its face’ than I calculated and now that it is ready all my copyists have failed.  Do you know of any good copyists.
If I can get it done in time Adrian Boult has kindly promised to run it through one morning in Bedford so as to check the parts.
Yrs sincerely

R Vaughan Williams
