The rule, I believe is, that the 2d syllable starts with a consonant – but I think there are more exceptions to than obediences.
I quote a few from Novello who I think is to be trusted in these matters. But surely B & Hawkes1 have an experienced engraver who would know all about that.
– I think Latin is different so Le Cras the very knowledgeable proofreader at Curwens told me.
You mention A. Jacob – is he back at his copying. Do let me know
