That was a lovely letter you wrote me – & it was a lovely evening – I found from Whittakers Almanac that 4½ inches equal just under 12 centimetres so you’ll know.¹
What do you think of this? Could you make enquiries though don’t like the wedge shape.²

1.  The letter was addressed to UW at 4½ Thayer Street.
2.  VW is referring to an advertisement for the ‘Bal-musette’ shoe (‘that Brevitt look’) cut from a paper or magazine enclosed with the letter. The shoe has remarkably high heels.
