Herewith my St Cecilia’s day anthem – Sorry for delay – but my copyist let me down badly (not his fault altogether – a series of accidents).1

1.  The voice out of the whirlwind, Catalogue of Works 1947/2, adapted from the ‘Galliard of the sons of the morning’ in Job, and written for the annual St Cecilia’s day service of the Musicians Benevolent Fund at St Sepulchre’s, Holborn. Frank replied that there should be no difficulty in getting it out by 1st September.
2.  VW had presumably recently delivered the score of the sixth symphony to Oxford University Press.
