From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.
3rd July, 1947
Dear Irving,
Thank you very much for your letter about Stanley Bate.1
As regards the Scott film,2 I think before finally deciding, I should like to have a conference with you and the producer, or director,3 whichever it is – I never know which is which – and see whether your his and my ideas agree as to the sort of music required. I have very definite ideas and if they do not agree with his, it might be rather difficult.
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
