The White Gates,
Dorking, Surrey.

6th August, 1952

Dear Mrs. Thomson,

I am so sorry you were not able to come last Sunday.
I have noted the date of your concert, October 31st., but I fear it is very doubtful whether I shall be able to come, much as I should like to.
Please give my love to all your choir and say that whether I can be present or not I shall be thinking of them.1
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams
