[About 5th February 1953]
My dear Waddy
Thank you so much for your letter1 which comforted me very much. I wish you were back in London. I feel lost without you or Gustav to look over my things & tell me where I get off – Nobody else has both the skill & the patience to tell me what I want to know.
As an awful result of your letter I am sending you one or two scraps which I have produced during the last 2 years – it’s a shame to pester you.
I am so sorry you have been ill.
Yrs
