Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Peter Hamber

Letter No.: VWL2837

The White Gates,
Dorking,

20th October, 1948.

Dear Mr. Hamber,

I was very glad to get your letter because some months ago I had another from you which I was unable to answer as I mislaid the first page of it, and therefore had not your address.
I am so sorry you did not come and speak to me the other night.  I shall should have been so interested to see one of my correspondents face to face.
I caught my train alright that night and I am sorry I had to run away so early; do come and speak to me next time.1
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams
(R. Vaughan Williams).
