Dear Mr. Smith,

Thank you very much for your letter.  I shall be glad to accept you¹ kind offer to let me have the instrument on trial before I finally settle.  My chief difficulty at present with my old machine is with the Third Programme, where the interference from what I am told is a North African station, makes it almost impossible for me to make any use of it.
Do you think your instrument would be able to eliminate that?²
In reply to your query, the current is D.C. and the voltage 230.
