Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Leonard Smith

Letter No.: VWL2987

The White Gates,
Dorking,

28th April, 1949.

Dear Mr. Smith,

It will be quite convenient for your engineers to come any time to Dorking on May 3rd., and according to your last letter they will arrive about 2.30.
With regard to testing the Third Programme I would point out that owing to our Summer Time the foreign station which interferes with us does not appear to function until about 7.30 or 8 o’c. by our time, so I fear it would be no good your expert coming to listen-in before about 8 o’clock if he wanted to hear any interference.
Yours sincerely,

R. Vaughan Williams
(R. Vaughan Williams).

Leonard Smith, Esq.,
Columbia Graphophone Co.,
Blyth Road, Hayes.
