Dear Moore

I have received a warm letter from the Provost of Kings¹ saying that he considers Bob Trevelyan is “well worthy of the serious consideration of the Council” and that he will write to the Vice Chancellor² and will speak to E.M. Forster – He also thinks that Desmond McCarthy might be approached, but thinks it would come better from you.
Will you do this – as well as writing to the Provost? – but if you do not want to write to Desmond I will of course do this myself.
