1. sic.  VW’s Sinfonia antartica was performed on the afternoon of Sunday, 19 June at Birmingham Town Hall by the CBSO with Margaret Ritchie as the soprano soloist and the BBC Midland Chorus (women’s voices). It was broadcast live on the BBC Home Service from 2:45 p.m (see Radio Times, No. 1649), and clearly RVW listened to the broadcast.
