Dear Isidore

Thank you so much for your letter. I will send the string parts as soon as I can, but I fear they will not be ready much before the 20th.
About trying them through. What would you like best? Would you like me to come up one day to London and run them through with you and your colleagues, in which case I might bring Michael Mullinar along with me to play some of the pianoforte part?
I think we ought to have a short full rehearsal with everybody there on the 20th. If you came down by the train which arrives, I think, about 2 o’clock at Dorking we could rehearse from 2.30 to 3.30 and it would not matter if the guests were arriving during the rehearsal. Or would you prefer to come down in the morning and then have lunch and a rest before the performance?
I have also to find out what the Tudor Singers and Steuart Wilson (who is reciting) can do in the matter.
Or it might be more convenient to you not to worry about the string parts until the morning of the 20th when you could come down and run it through by yourself, and then after lunch have as much of a full rehearsal as we can manage before the performance.
