Letter from Ursula Vaughan Williams to Michael and Eslyn Kennedy
Letter No.: VWL3268
[Newbury]
[14 August 1958]
Joy took us for a glorious trip round Dorset, Stonehenge remade en route – & Yarnbury. Then Shaftesbury & this glorious giant1 on his sunny hill, & over wild downs. We ended up in a remote thatched pub in the quietest village I’ve ever met. Then down to the sea on the Chesil bank yesterday – a visit to Sylvia Townsend Warner & home in the rain via Sarum. Here till Monday. Thank you for HWN2 & the cutting. All well & lots of love to you both from us both.
