I have an awful confession to make – I want another alteration or rather addition in the score & parts of the symphony – as shown in the enclosed – If it is absolutely too late to get on to the plates it ought to go in as an erratum slip!¹

1. The enclosure gives 2 bars of the double bass part of the 1st movt. of the Eighth Symphony (Catalogue of Works 1955/3) at the Andante Sostenuto (4 bars after Fig.9) as it appears in the published score.
