1. Glover’s letter was one of congratulations following the first London performance of the Eighth Symphony on 14th May. Glover had observed that it would be nice if a published score was available at the same time. VW was usually anxious not to allow engraving a printed score to begin until after rehearsals and the first performance of major works, in case he decided upon alterations in that period.
