Herewith the last movement of my symphony – I have put both revisions into one book – this is only for convenience of transport.¹
This movement does not, of course, follow straight on the scherzo – there is a big gap which has got to be filled in.²

1. It is not clear why VW is talking of two revisions.
2. This sentence makes it clear that VW is talking of the Sixth Symphony and therefore that letter is to be dated 1947.
