You know how much I admire your genius, and I am glad the R.C.M.¹ is beginning to recognize you, but of course it will be a slow process, and I understand from Eric Greene that for the time being financial difficulties have cropped up.  I hope that the enclosed will help to straighten things out.  I am telling Eric that I have sent this.
Give my love to Mary, and I hope that this gift will help to give you both mutual happiness which I so much wish for you.
