Your wonderful letter has just arrived as I start for the R.C.M.¹ but I must write a word.
First business
You may receive a visit from a friend of M^rs Trevelyan.²
You may receive a visit from a friend of Miss Vera Morse who is in her turn a friend of Miss Lucy Fletcher
You may receive a visit from Dr Theo. Liebhammer³ who is a friend of my sister-in-law Mrs H. Vaughan Williams⁴

What a lot of friends you seem to have made already. About teachers – its no good keeping you off atonality – so if you feel that way go in for it – But I want you to go to a pedant & a martinet who will keep your nose to the grindstone – I don’t mean, dear Grace, that you won’t work – you always do that – but who will make you work his way for a bit & not your own – which I never c^d do.
Don’t fall in love with that Turk – he probably has 3 wives at home. I shall think of last Wed: & we will celebrate your return in the same way, shall we?⁵
