My Dear Joan
I fear it must be “no” (nothing to do I need hardly say with your stipulation) But I am conceited enough to think that I have still a little more left in me which has got to come out & I ought not to interfere with it – I shd have liked to have met Martin & you there – but not some of the others (e.g. Basil Maine).
I shall be sending some carols to you.
love to you both
Ralph
