Letter from Adeline Vaughan Williams to Victor Sheppard
Letter No.: VWL4363
The White Gates, Dorking
Jan 28 [1949]
Dear Mr Sheppard
You must have thought me horribly ungrateful – To my dismay my letter to you sent after your lovely Xmas parcel had arrived was returned to me a few days ago. Somehow I had addressed it to a former address not Bergvliet but not a very old one –
It was a wonderful parcel. I took for granted that Miss Watts was responsible for the soap parcel and it was a very welcome one – and my husband especially enjoyed the candied fruits –
Now here comes another parcel of much interest and in perfect condition and better than these your happy letter telling of the finding of a house and the hope that you and Miss Watts can soon be married –
We both send every good wish – and again many thanks –
Yours sincerely
Adeline Vaughan Williams
