Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Reverend F.S. Bull
Letter No.: VWL4440
Dorking
29th. October 1952
Dear Sir,
I was interested to be reminded of my old days at St. Barnabas but unfortunately I cannot remember my exact dates there. I think I must have been there about 3 years. I left in 1898 and I received for my services the magnificent sum of £50 a year. I am sorry not to be more helpful.
Yours faithfully,
R. Vaughan Williams.
P.S. I was the world’s worst organist.
The Rev. F.S. Bull,
St. Barnabas Vicarage,
Guildford Road, S.W.8.
