Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Nancy Evans

Letter No.: VWL4484

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

August 12th 1955.

Dearest Nancy,
Would you look at this song and see if it means anything to you? It was written by a young Welsh man1, a very remarkable lad who works for twelve hours a day in a factor and then composes till 3 am. I think he has the makings of a fine composer, but of course he is at present inexperiences2 as this song will show, perhaps too inexperienced, but look at it all the same.
Love
