Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to George McCleary
Letter No.: VWL4698
[1920s?]
My dear McCleary,
I don’t consider giving a little advice and criticism to the daughter of an old friend as “instruction”. It is a great pleasure to me to help Fiona in her compositions occasionally – and mind that she is to go on coming when ever she feels inclined and has anything to ask about. I like hearing the views and seeing the aims of the younger generation – it keeps me young!
