General Notes:
Date from context; see VWL4720. There was a concert on April 1st 1937 to celebrate the Coronation of George VI in May 1937; the concert included the newly commissioned Flourish for a coronation by VW. In VWL4721, VW believes Ein Heldenleben is on the programme, but the concert listing in the Radio Times has Elgar’s First Symphony as the longest item, and not Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben.
