Letter No.: VWL4765

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

September 16 [ca 1940]

Dear Foss
I shall not be in London naturally till the 21st and then I shall be teaching up to about 5 or so.  I fear that will not be of much use to you.  After that on the 28th but again not till after 5. or early afternoon on the 19th.  I should much like to hear about this play.
I have had a letter from Hans Schouwman of the Hague asking to make an arrangement of my Magnificat for strings flute & harp.  I have written to him suggesting that I should do it myself.  Would you agree to this? and would the O.U.P.1 be responsible for the band parts?
Yours sincerely
R Vaughan Williams
