Dear Buckland,
I listened to your Electra music the other night and thought it very successful as background music, which is after all what it was meant to be. I hope you will get some more work of the same kind.
I thought, otherwise, the performance was horrible. They all shouted and screamed at each other and had no sense of metre at all. The leader of the chorus was especially bad in that respect.
I am glad you are with Gordon Jacob. I thought he had given up teaching.
